Support our crews with their international competition costs

Rowing Australia and the Australian Sports Foundation have teamed up to launch a new fundraising initiative.

The 2016 Seat Fee Campaign is calling for donations that will go directly into reducing the individual seat fee amount payable for athletes who have been selected for the Junior World Rowing Championships, U21 Trans-Tasman Series and the U23 World Rowing Championships.

Tax deductable donations can be made online by visiting

Seat fees are the costs associated with sending teams overseas to compete.  This year, being an Olympic and Paralympic one, provides a unique opportunity for all U23 and junior athletes, to compete at the same event as the non-Olympic senior crews at the World Rowing Championships in Rotterdam, The Netherlands from 21 to 28 August. The U21 Australian Rowing Team will compete once again in the Trans-Tasman Regatta, which is held both in Penrith, New South Wales (30 June – 2 July) and Lake Karapiro, New Zealand (8-10 September).

Ahead of these regattas, Rowing Australia will once again be hosting the athletes for pre-departure camps and providing the best possible on and off-water support to the crews selected, including the very best in support staff services of medical, physiotherapy and sports science, and the provision of the best possible equipment for racing during and in the lead up to an event.

Rowing Australia funds a portion of the seat fee costs per athlete, as well as a range of support services around each of the teams, however each year the selected athletes are asked to contribute the remaining component of the overall costs.

This fundraising program aims to raise money to reduce or ultimately remove this burden on each athlete. Help support our crews compete overseas and donate now here. All donation are tax deductable.
