Day five of the 2016 Olympic Games rowing regatta was cancelled due to poor weather in Rio de Janeiro.
Strong winds and rain meant that Australia’s men’s four (semi-final), women’s eight (repechage) and men’s quadruple sculls (final) were unable to race today.
Organisers have now released an updated schedule of racing which sees a change in Thursday’s racing for Australia’s crews.
The following Australian crews will now race on Thursday, 11 August:
09:30 Local Time (10:30 AEST) – Semi-Final Men’s Four
09:50 Local Time (10:50 AEST) – Repechage Women’s Eight
10:12 Local Time (23:12 AEST) – Final Men’s Quadruple Sculls
10:44 Local Time (23:44 AEST) – Final Men’s Pair
12:50 Local Time (01:50 AEST) – B-Final Women’s Double Sculls
13:00 Local Time (02:00 AEST) – B-Final Men’s Double Sculls
This revised schedule means that two Australian crews will be racing finals on Thursday – the men’s quadruple sculls and the men’s pair.
Subject to weather conditions on Thursday, a further update will be provided after 7:30 Rio time (20:30 AEST).
