The second leg of the Trans-Tasman Regatta will begin later this week, when the U21 Australian Rowing Team takes on their New Zealand counterparts on Lake Karapiro, in New Zealand.
The first leg of the regatta was won by Australia up in Sydney at the Sydney International Regatta Centre. Australia will be hoping to retain its lead over New Zealand when racing begins on 8 September so that they can reclaim the Rusty Robertson Trophy.
Prior to departing for New Zealand, the 20-strong team of Australian athletes took part in a training camp at the Reinhold Batschi National Training Centre and utilised the facilities of the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.
