Sunday 27 October saw the 2019 Australian Indoor Rowing Championships take place at venues across Australia.
Congratulations to all who competed, and thank you to all who volunteered and supported the event which had 679 competitors at seven venues.
We now have all results consolidated and verified by Concept2, we are so pleased to announce that we have 16 new World Records and three Australian Records that were set at the 2019 Australian Indoor Rowing Championships.
One incredible story that has come out of this years event is the story of Kayley Mitchell. Kayley has Cerebral Palsey, 12 months ago she could not hop, skip or balance on her left leg. Now, after 12 months of training with her coach Rachel she has set six World Records at this event. Not only is Kayley achieving more and more in terms of movements, she is surprising all those around her. Her paediatrician and surgical team are amazed by her achievements and have held off having to do surgery on her leg to lengthen the bones. It is amazing what people can achieve, and we are so greatful to be able to provide a sport and competition where people from all walks of life are able to compete and achieve their goals!
Medals have been sent to all Event Coordinators for collection.
