Para-Rowing Eligibility

World Rowing has announced that they will allow virtual classification assessments for PHYSICAL IMPAIRMENTS to be conducted specifically for the World Indoor Rowing Championships in February 2022.

There are some important requirements that need to be met and with limited time, anyone interested in pursuing this who requires an International Classification for eligibility, is asked to contact Gordon Marcks, Head Coach Para-Rowing as soon as possible:

Completed World Rowing Classification Forms must be forwarded to Rowing Australia (Gordon Marcks) by Wednesday 29th of December for uploading to World Rowing for consideration.

The World Rowing Medical Form (to be completed by a medical practitioner) is available here

Depending on the type of impairment indicated, there may be further tests and forms needed (such as manual muscle test and goniometric measurements) and these are available on the Rowing Australia website

Following submission and acceptance of the forms, Rowing Australia will endeavour to facilitate assessment by Rowing Australia Classifiers pending athlete location and Classifier availability. While every effort is made to satisfy the eligibility criteria, assessment and eligibility is not guaranteed.

We can appreciate you may have questions relating to classification and we encourage you to reach out to Gordon on the details listed above.
