Rowing Australia today announced the addition of Georgia Nesbitt to the Australian Rowing Team. Georgia will compete in the Lightweight Women’s Single Scull only at the 2015 World Rowing Championships to be held in Aiguebelette, France from 31 August to 6 September this year.
Nesbitt’s addition to the squad comes from her strong performance in the Lightweight Single at National Trials and the Selectors believe her addition will provide her with important international competition exposure under the guidance of Ellen Randell.
In addition, to the above, Rowing Australia have also announced the appointment of Barnaby Eaton as the Selectors Delegate for the Senior A Selections to be conducted in the United States of America next week (10 to 12 June 2015).
The Selectors have delegated the following powers to Mr Eaton:
- oversee and conduct the process on behalf of the selectors;
- consolidate race data and forward to selectors; and;
- attend selectors teleconference meeting to provide any further contextual information
The full Senior A Selection Panel will then consider all race data and information provided in making their selection decision regarding the USA-based Senior A athletes.
