More famously known as Ben to his family, friends, and teammates, Ben competes for the Mercantile Rowing Club, Victoria.  He first started Rowing at the age of 14 under the guidance of Coach Richard Bartlett. In 2019, Ben won a Gold medal at the 2022 National Championships in the Under 23 Men’s Coxed Four.   In 2021, he was part of the winning Victorian King’s Cup Eight (Interstate Regatta).   At the 2019 Under 23 World Championships, Ben raced in the Australian Men’s Coxed Four that won a Gold medal.   The crew were also awarded the 2019 Pathway Crew of the Year award. In 2022, Ben was selected in the Men’s sweep squad for the European regattas (Poznan, Henley, and Lucerne).  He was part of the two Men’s Eight crews that won a Silver Medal at both the World Cup 2 and 3 regattas. At the 2022 World Championships held in in Račice, Czech Republic, Canham was selected to race in the Four seat of the Men’s Eight that won a Bronze Medal.  Off the water, he is studying an Industrial Design degree at RMIT University.
