It was not long ago, 2013 in fact, that Australia’s Genevieve Horton appeared for the first time on the international rowing scene. The Mosman RC athlete became a Junior World Champion that year in the women’s pair alongside Jessie Allen and also won a gold in the Women's Eight that raced at the 2013 World Rowing Cup 1 in Sydney. At the 2014 World Rowing Under 23 Championships she won bronze, also in the pair. Aged just 21, this promising athlete will continue to impress the world of rowing in the years to come. In 2015, she raced in the Women's Pair alongside Molly Goodman, while in 2016 she was named in the Women's Double Scull alongside Sally Kehoe and rowed at the 2016 Olympic Games. Horton, who is studying Business Management, was named in the Women's Quadruple Scull for World Rowing Cups 2 and 3 and the World Rowing Championships in 2017 with Leah Saunders, Rowena Meredith and Caitlin Cronin. The crew went on to win a silver and bronze medal at their respective World Cups, while in 2018, Horton was once again selected to the Quad for the World Rowing Cups and World Rowing Championships.
