Hamish Playfair joined the Reinhold Batschi Men's National Training Centre in 2017 as part of the initial intake. Playfair graduated from UTS in 2014 with a Bachelor of Business, and recently completed his Cert III in Personal Training. He is currently studying for a Postgraduate Marketing qualification with Griffith University. Playfair has previously represented Australia at World Rowing Cups and U23 World Championships and in 2017 was the Men's Sculling reserve for World Rowing Cups 2 and 3. While at the World Rowing Championships in 2017, Playfair represented Australia in the Men's Eight. In 2018, Playfair returned to the RBNTC, but was unfortunately, due to illness, unable to compete. In 2019, the New South Welshman who names the Nepean River as his favourite place to row, was selected into the Men's Double Scull with Campbell Watts. No doubt he'll be getting himself ready to race listening the 'Enter Sandman' by Metallica.
