Henry Youl was born in Tasmania.   He attended Launceston Church Grammar School and is currently a member of the Tamar Rowing Club, Launceston.   In 2016 and 2017, Youl was selected to stroke the Australian Under 23 Coxless Fours that competed in the World Under 23 Rowing Championships.  His 2016 crew won a Bronze Medal.    In 2022, Youl was selected in the Men’s sweep squad for the 2022 European regattas.  He was part of the two Australian Men’s Eight crews that won a Silver Medal at both the World Cup II and III regattas held in Poznan, Poland and Lucerne, Switzerland respectively.  At the 2022 World Rowing Championships held in Račice, Czech Republic, Youl was in the three-seat of the ART Men’s Eight that won a Bronze Medal. Off the water, Henry is in the process of completing his Carpentry Apprenticeship.
