Lilly Tinapple is a graduate of Stanford University, where she studied Biomechanical Engineering. The West Australian took up rowing after being Talent ID'd while still at high school. She went on to be named in the 2016 All American Team and names Eugene in Oregon as her favourite place to row. Tinapple has represented Australia at two Junior and two U23 World Championships, between 2011 and 2014, and names Trap Queen by Fetty Wap as her favouite pump song pre-race. In 2019, she was named in the Women's Sweep Squad for the World Rowing Cups.
