Harvard graduate, Sam Hardy, joined the Reinhold Batschi Men's National Training Centre in 2018/19. The New South Welshman has previously represented Australia in the U23 Men's Coxed Four in 2016 at the World Rowing U23 World Rowing Championships. A graduate of film studies, Hardy says the song 'Cool' by Strath is his favourite song to get him in the right frame of mind to race.In 2019 Hardy raced in the Men's Pair, with fellow Harvard graduate Josh Hicks, the duo took home a bronze medal at the 2019 World Rowing Championships.

For the 2022 international season, Hardy was selected in the A.R.T. Men’s sweep squad.  During the two 2022 World Cup regattas held in Poznan and Lucerne respectively, Hardy was part of both Men’s Eight crews that won a Silver-medal.

At the 2022 World Rowing Championships held in Račice, Czech Republic, Hardy was in the six seat of the ART Men’s Eight that won a Bronze Medal.
