The Bobby Pearce Foundation, formed in 2003, brings together those who have been members of Australian Rowing Teams at World Championships and Olympic Games, and is named after Australia’s first Olympic rowing gold medallist.
The purpose of the Foundation is to raise funds from these previous Australian representative rowers in order to support current and future national team rowers selected to compete in the underage Australian Rowing Teams, in turn helping them to achieve selection to Senior World Championships and Olympic Games teams and contribute to the next generation.
The funds raised are used to assist with the travel, training and competition expenses of members of underage Australian Rowing Teams, and in particular support those athletes that have experienced a particular financial hardship.
The trustees of the Bobby Pearce Foundation are:
- John Coates
- John Boultbee
- Peter Antonie
