Invitation lists have now been finalised for Rowing Australia’s National Senior and Para Team Selection Trials, scheduled to be held from March 11-17 at the Sydney International Regatta Centre (SIRC).
These trials will also encompass selection for the Under 23 team.
After a hugely successful NSW Rowing Championships, Rowing Australia performance director Paul Thompson said the depth was impressive as the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games slowly appear on the horizon.
“Invitations to this year’s selection trials have been hotly contested in the wake of the largest ever NSW Rowing Championships. Joining our successful 2022 national team rowers are some familiar names returning to racing from the Tokyo Olympic boats,” Thompson said.
“The standard and depth of the triallists has taken a big step in fighting for seats in this Paris 2024 qualification World Championships.
“Following on from his world record ergometer effort, Erik Horrie leads an impressive group of Paralympic triallists. With an eye to the future this year’s trials also combines both the senior and Under 23 team selection.”
An Australian team will be named for the trio of World Cups in Europe and the World Championships, to be held in Belgrade at the start of September.
