The Australia A Men’s Quad, Double Scull and Women’s Lightweight Double Scull will take on the A-Finals as the rest of the field search for redemption in the B-Finals in this evening’s final session of racing at World Rowing Cup I in Varese, Italy.

Australia’s Women’s Lightweight Double Scull (Anneka Reardon and Georgia Miansarow) secured their sport in the A-Final on Friday after one of the reaches of the regatta, fending off a fast-finishing Italian crew to win by 0.02s. The margin between first and third was only 0.04s.

The Men’s Double Scull 1 of Oscar McGuinnes and Mitchell Reinhard had a brilliant second half of the race as they rowed through the crew from Great Britain to finish second and secure a spot in the A-Final.

The Men’s Quad Scull (Jack Cleary, Caleb Antill, Campbell Watts, Alexander Rossi) carried the momentum of the Double to lead from start-to-finish as they crossed the line first in their Repechage to also secure a spot in the A-Final.

The rest of the Australia A squad will search for victory in the B-Finals on Sunday evening. These boats include:

  • Men’s Double Scull 2 (Harry Glackin, Hamish Harding)
  • Men’s Coxless Four (Alex Wolf, Hamish Wynn-Pope, Fraser Miscamble, Charles Batrouney)
  • Women’s Coxless Four 1 (Eleanor Price, Georgie Gleeson, Sarah Mariott, Ella Bramwell)
  • Women’s Coxless Four 2 (Madeline Williams, Emily Shepard, Laura Foley, Sarah Tisdall)
