Australia’s campaign at the 2025 World Rowing Championships steps into another gear on Thursday with the Women’s and Men’s Eights making their long-awaited debuts, joined by crews across Para and small boat events in a packed day of racing.
The Women’s Eight will feature in Heat 1 against Canada, China, the Netherlands and Romania at 12:05pm (AEST).
Just over 10 minutes later, the Men’s Eight will launch in Heat 1 against Romania, Poland, Great Britain and Italy.
In Para-rowing, the PR3 Mixed Double Sculls of Sam Stunell and Lisa Greissl begin their campaign in Heat 1 against Uzbekistan, Brazil, Japan and Italy at 12:57pm.
The Men’s Double Sculls of Oscar McGuinness and Mitchell Reinhard return to racing after their Semi-Final was moved to Thursday due to weather conditions. They face Switzerland, Poland, Serbia, New Zealand and Belgium in Semi-Final 2 at 1:21pm, with the top three progressing to the A-Final.
The Men’s Quadruple Sculls of Nicholas Blackman, Johnson Daubney, Jackson Free and Alexander Rossi will round out the day in the B Final at 3:53pm against crews from the Czech Republic, Spain, China, Romania and France. The Women's Pair of Taylor Caudle and Eleanor Price will also wrap up the Shanghai campaign in the B Final at 3:35pm.
