The Australian Indoor Rowing Championships 2025 (#AIRC25) will bring athletes of all ages and abilities together in a national nine-day indoor rowing festival, running from October 25 to November 2.
For the first time, competitors will have a full nine-day event window to submit their best performance, either virtually from anywhere on a Concept2 RowErg or at in-person hubs hosted by schools, clubs, gyms, universities, or Defence bases.
All results will feed into the same national leaderboards through the RowNation app, making #AIRC25 the most accessible and wide-reaching indoor rowing event in Australia.
The expanded format allows athletes unlimited attempts across the competition window, with only their best valid result counting toward medals.
All competitors will submit results through the Row Nation app, ensuring consistency, fairness, and streamlined verification.
Tufi Sele, Rowing Australia’s Indoor Rowing Manager, said the new structure reflects the sport’s growth and accessibility.
“By extending the event to nine days and centralising results through Row Nation, we’re making #AIRC25 more flexible, fair, and community-driven than ever before,” Sele said.
“Whether you’re racing at a hub or from your own home, you’ll be part of one national event.”
This year’s championships also introduce new pathways for training and community involvement.
Competitors can prepare through Row Clubs offering expert-led sessions or follow tailored programs in the Row Nation app.
Row Nation is expanding its network and new venues that sign up as Row Clubs before the end of 2025 will receive $3,000 in setup funding, incentives for participation, and the chance to host their own official #AIRC25 Open Hub, bringing the event directly to their communities.
The result is a hybrid model that supports both first-time competitors and experienced rowers, while connecting people across Australia in a single event.
Events include the 500m, 1000m, 2000m, 1-minute challenge, and 4×500m relay, with male, female, and mixed divisions.
Categories range from juniors under 14 to masters 85+, with lightweight and para-rowing classifications ensuring everyone has the chance to take part.
Early Bird tickets are on sale now until September 15, with registrations opening September 16.
Once registered, competitors will receive their unique competitor codes and step-by-step submission instructions.
