Chris O’Brien, recently appointed Rowing Australia Men’s Head Coach, has been selected to join the Win Well Strategy Horizon 2 Leadership Group.

O’Brien’s inclusion in this influential group underscores his exceptional leadership and dedication to fostering the values of the Win Well Strategy within Rowing Australia.

The Win Well Strategy, a cornerstone of Australian sport's roadmap to sustainable success leading up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, emphasises the importance of winning with integrity, resilience, and well-being.

With over 60 sports and organisations aligning with this ethos, the strategy aims to ensure that Australian athletes, coaches, and staff thrive not only in competition but in life.

Rowing Australia's Chief Executive Officer, Sarah Cook OLY, shared her excitement about O’Brien’s appointment.

"I'm thrilled to see Rowing Australia Men’s Head Coach, Chris O’Brien, included in the Win Well Strategy Leadership Group,” Cook said.

“This is significant for our sport, the organisation, and our athletes. Win Well is not just a philosophy; it's a vital approach that underscores the importance of integrity, resilience, and holistic development.

“By embedding these values at the heart of Rowing Australia's culture, we set a powerful example for Australian sport as a whole, guiding athletes not only to success but to a lasting legacy of personal and professional excellence."

The Win Well Strategy Horizon 2 Leadership Group consists of senior leaders from Australia’s high-performance sports ecosystem, including representatives from the Australian Sports Commission, Australian Olympic Committee, Paralympics Australia, and Commonwealth Games Australia.

The group is tasked with overseeing the implementation of the strategy over the next two years.

O’Brien’s inclusion in this influential group underscores his exceptional leadership and dedication to fostering the values of the Win Well Strategy within Rowing Australia.

As the Leadership Group prepares for its inaugural meeting in February, O’Brien is set to play a pivotal role in aligning rowing’s goals with the strategy’s core values, ensuring that Rowing Australia remains at the forefront of fostering a culture of integrity and success.
