The Rowing Australia Event Medical Services guidelines are a practical guide for event organizing committees and event Doctors. These guidelines are designed to assist in the quantification of medical risk and planning for the minimization of this risk. They cover minimal medical, rescue and safety services at rowing events that fall under the auspices of RA.
Past experience, input and expertise from a range of service providers, other sporting federations and experienced rowing regatta medical practitioners have been utilised in formulating these Guidelines.
Whilst these guidelines are for use in all Rowing Australia conducted events, it is recommended that State Associations and other event organizers consider these guidelines and resources in assessing their own requirements for their events. Hosts of Rowing Australia events are encouraged to seek additional advice regarding medical coverage.
