Rowing Australia and TEMPUR renew partnership until 2024

Rowing Australia (RA) and TEMPUR have today announced the renewal of their four-year partnership which will now continue through until 2024.

The renewed partnership sees TEMPUR as the continued official sleep and travel partner of the Australian Rowing Team and official sponsor of RA.

Over the past four years Tempur has proudly supported the Australian Rowing Team by supplying mattresses for the recovery rooms at both of the National Training Centres (NTC). 2019 also saw the Reinhold Batschi Men’s NTC have two recovery rooms built which were fitted with TEMPUR mattresses.

Jason Nicholas, Managing Director, TEMPUR Australia and New Zealand said: “We are thrilled to support the Australian Rowing Team with their rest and recovery program. Rowing Australia have qualified more athlete spots for the Tokyo Olympics than the previous Olympic cycle and we are delighted to be helping all of these rowers on their journey to the Games. To have qualified so many athlete spots is testament to the leadership, high performance program and incredible detail that every athlete and administrator contributes 86,400 seconds a day.”

Chief Executive of RA, Ian Robson added with the daily training loads of our NTC athletes, sleep and recovery is critical which underlines the importance of securing a long term partnership extension with such a world-renowned brand.

“TEMPUR and Rowing Australia have a strong brand alignment. Given that we strive to have excellence on and off the water, it only makes sense that we partner with a leading brand for sleep products globally.”

Rio 2016 Olympian David Watts commented, “To have the recovery rooms with TEMPUR mattresses available at both our National Training Centres has been excellent for all of us. It’s meant we’ve been able to recover with a good sleep, on an excellent TEMPUR mattress, between our sessions. Recovery and sleep are vital for any elite athlete and to have TEMPUR support us on our journey for another four years is fantastic.”
