Rowena Meredith

Rowena Meredith represented Australia at the U23 World Rowing Championships in 2015, winning a silver medal in the Women's Quad Scull, alongside Georgie Gotch, Leah Saunders and Tessa Carty. The New South Wales-born athlete, who is currently studying to become a paramedic, joined the Hancock Prospecting Women's National Training Centre at the end of 2016 and names Lake Rama in Bosnia & Herzegovina as her favourite place to row. In 2017, she was named in the Women's Quadruple Scull for World Rowing Cups 2 and 3 alongside Genevieve Horton, Leah Saunders and Caitlin Cronin, with the crew later competing at the World Rowing Championships. In 2018, Meredith reprised her spot in the Women's Quadruple Scull, competing at the World Rowing Cups and World Rowing Championships alongside Horton, Cronin and Olympia Aldersey.
In 2019, Meredith was selected into the Women's Quadruple Scull alongside Katrina Bateman, Fiona Ewing and Cara Grzeskowiak - the crew finished fourth in the B-Final missing out on a berth for Tokyo. Meredith, proceeded to continue to row in New South Wales, with the Sydney University Boat Club athlete selected into the Quadruple Scull for the Final Olympic Qualification Regatta in 2021. Alongside Harriet Hudson, Caitlin Cronin and Ria Thompson, the crew finished in the first place to secure Australia a berth in Tokyo.
At the rescheduled Games the crew went on to win an Olympic bronze medal on the Sea Forest Waterway.
At the 2022 World Cup III regatta held in Lucerne, Switzerland, Meredith was selected in the A.R.T. Women’s Sculling squad. At the 2022 World Cup II regatta held in Poznan, Poland – Meredith, Georgie Gleeson, Kathryn Rowan, and Kate Rowan were selected to race in the Women’s Quadruple Scull. The crew qualified for the A-Final and finished in 4th position.
At the 2022 World Championships held in Račice, Czech Republic, Meredith, Rowan, Harriet Hudson, and Amanda Bateman raced as the Australian Women’s Quadruple Scull crew that qualified for the A Final, and finished in sixth place.
In March 2023, Rowena was once again chosen to represent Australia, this time alongside Harriet Hudson, Ria Thompson, and Caitlin Cronin, in the quad scull for the international season.
Despite some challenges, including a change in crew members, Rowena and her team showcased resilience, securing their spot in the Paris 2024 Olympics at the 2023 World Rowing Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.
