Paige Barr

VIC | Merantile Boat Club

Paige is a young talented Rower who attended Gippsland Grammar School, and was her school’s Captain of Boats.  She first started Rowing at the age of 15 under the guidance of Coach Peter Campbell.

After finishing school, Paige joined Mercantile Rowing Club and won a Gold medal in the Under 21 Women’s Coxless Four at the 2021 National Championships.  At the 2022 Nationals Championships held in Nagambie Lakes, Victoria, Paige came second in the Women’s Under 23 Single Scull.  She is also a Rowing coach at Genazzano FCJ College.

For the 2022 international season, Paige was selected in the Australian Rowing Team (ART) Women’s Sweep Squad.  She stroked the Women’s Under 23 Coxless Four at the 2022 World Under 23 Championships and won a Bronze medal.

At the World Cup 3 regatta held in Lucerne, Switzerland in July 2022, Paige raced in the Women’s Eight that won a historical Gold Medal.

At the 2022 World Championships held in Račice, Czech Republic, Paige was selected as the three-seat of the ART Women’s Eight that finished in fifth position.  Off the water, Paige is studying for an Exercise and Sport Science degree at Deakin University, Melbourne, Victoria. 

In early 2023, Paige won the Queen's Cup again for Victoria, marking two wins in two years for her state.

2023 also saw Paige continue with her place in the Australia rowing team, cementing herself in the senior eight squad. In the Rowing World Cup II Paige and her team defeated Great Britain to claim gold.

A few weeks later at the Rowing World Cup III, Paige finished the competition with a bronze as part of Australia's eight.

In her second World Rowing Championships in 2023, Paige was a part of the women's eight that came back from the repechage round to eventually finish third.
