Catherine Khan

ACT | Australian National University Boat Club

Canberra’s Catherine “CK” Khan has carved out a rapid rise in Australian rowing, pairing a sharp technical focus with an appetite for pushing her physical limits. A former swimmer, basketballer, and athlete, Catherine discovered rowing at age 20 after years of watching her younger sister compete. The turning point came at the Australian Rowing Championships in Penrith, riding her bike alongside the course, she knew she wanted to be in the boat, not just on the sidelines.

Since then, she has made her mark with national titles, including the 2023 women’s club double sculls with Taylor Caudle and the 2025 open women’s double sculls alongside Grace Sypher. Representing the ACT, Catherine also helped write a piece of history, racing in the 2023 Queen’s Cup, the first ACT crew to compete in the event in 11 years.

Affiliated with the ANU Boat Club, Catherine balances her on-water ambitions with a career as a Senior Consultant at KPMG. Her 2025 goals centre on building speed within a strong technical framework, purposeful reflection to drive improvement, and finding joy in testing her limits.

Guided by her first coaches, Edwin Bien and Nigel Harding, Catherine continues to embrace the challenge of refining her craft. Away from rowing, she enjoys Pilates, swimming, and taking her dog on adventures, always with the same dedication she brings to the water.

Catherine is currently a member of the Australian Coastal Mixed Double Sculls.
