Sarah Marriott

VIC | Melbourne University Boat Club

Sarah Marriott first picked up an oar in 2019 at St Catherine’s School, Melbourne, where she quickly rose through the ranks to help deliver her school’s first Division 1 Head of Schoolgirls victory in over four decades. Alongside school success, she showed her resilience early, balancing the demands of elite training while managing Type One Diabetes.

After claiming back-to-back national schoolgirl titles and winning the Prince Philip Challenge Trophy at Henley Royal Regatta in 2022, Sarah stepped seamlessly into the underage pathway. In 2023 she became a triple U23 national champion in the pair, four and eight, before stroking the Australian U23 Four to a bronze medal at the World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Later that year she added two international golds to her record with the Women’s Eight at the Head of the Shanghai River Regatta.

Invited into Rowing Australia’s Hancock Prospecting National Training Centre at just 18, Sarah has since represented Australia at both senior and U23 level, racing at the World Rowing Cup in Varese and two consecutive U23 World Championships, including a fourth-place finish in the Women’s Eight in 2024.

In 2025, Sarah made a major impact in her freshman year at Stanford University, racing in the 6-seat of the Varsity Eight and winning the NCAA Team Championship, the ACC Championship, and being named ACC Newcomer of the Year.

Away from the water, Sarah’s interests include running, cross-country skiing, and travel. A Henley winner, NCAA champion and international medallist, she continues to chase her goal of representing Australia at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, proving that diabetes is no barrier to elite performance.

Sarah is currently a sweep reserve for the Rowsellas.
