Angus Dawson

Angus Dawson is currently studying at the University of California Berkeley, but due to COVID returned to Australia and was consequently selected into Australia's Men's Eight in 2021. He's now based out of the Reinhold Batschi Men's NTC in Canberra.
His career has soared on the international stage, where he clinched world championship titles at the U23 World Rowing Championships in 2019 and 2022. Dawson also showcased his skills at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, competing in the Australian men's eight.
While studying at UC Berkeley, he rowed in the varsity eight before returning to Australia due to Covid concerns, continuing to compete at the highest levels. Notably, Dawson won the national open men's coxless pair title with teammate Alexander Hill in 2021.
Despite become a regular member in the Australian senior team throughout 2022, Angus also continued to represent at Under 23 level. He won a bronze medal at the U23 World Rowing Championships in the men's eight.
In addition, Angus returned to the United States to continue his scholarship. He once again became a regular member of the University’s Varsity Eight team, which won several competitions against rival colleges.
At the 2023 World Rowing Cup II Angus made a change, entering the men's pair alongside Joseph O’Brien. The two finished second in both their heat and the semi-final before claiming bronze in the final race.
Angus returned to the men's eight team at the World Rowing Cup III, claiming first place and later that year third at the World Rowing Championships.
In May of 2024, Angus competed in the men's eight at the World Rowing Cup II. Australia qualified for the final, however just missed out on a medal finishing in fourth place.
Dawson now sits in the seven seat of the Men's Coxed Eight.
