Angus Widdicombe

Proud Victorian, Angus Widdicombe is a member of the Reinhold Batschi Men's National Training Centre. Widdicombe, who studies Environmental Science, first represented Australia last year in the U23 Men's Eight at the 2016 World Rowing U23 Championships. In 2017, Widdicombe raced in the Men's Eight at World Rowing Cups 2 and in the Men's Four at World Rowing Cup 3. At the 2017 World Rowing Championships, Widdicombe won silver alongside Darcy Wruck and James Rook in the Men's Coxed Pair. In 2018, Widdicombe was selected to represent Australia in the Men's Eight at the World Rowing Cups 2 and 3 and World Rowing Championships.

Widdicombe was selected in the Men’s Eight for the rescheduled 2020 Olympic Games.  The crew made the A-Final and finished in 6th place

For the 2022 international season, Widdicombe was selected in the A.R.T. Men’s sweep squad.  During the two 2022 World Cup regattas held in Poznan and Lucerne respectively, Widdicombe was part of both Men’s Eight crews that won a Silver-medal.

At the 2022 World Rowing Championships held in Racice, Czech Republic, Widdicombe was selected as the five seat of the Men’s Eight that won a Bronze Medal.   

In 2024, he raced as part of the men's eight team which finished in fourth at the World Rowing Cup II.
