Austin "Aussie" Reinehr is a bow-side sweep rower from Ballarat, Victoria, whose journey from the sheds of St Patrick’s College to the world stage has been shaped by passion, persistence, and a love for the team grind. Representing Mercantile Rowing Club and Victoria, Austin is a two-time World Rowing U23 Championship Silver medallist in the Men’s Four and a 2024 and 2025 King's Cup winner.
A proud Hawks supporter, Austin’s favourite sporting memories include the iconic 2013–2015 AFL Grand Finals, but his personal highlight reel is quickly catching up. In 2025, he will make his senior debut for Australia, racing at Henley Royal Regatta, and hopes to bring home a medal from the 2025 World Rowing Championships.
Austin grew up immersed in AFL and cricket but found a deeper connection in rowing, drawn to the unique demands of teamwork and discipline. Inspired by his siblings and guided early on by coach Brendan Scott, he made the decision in Year 12 to fully commit to the sport. He now studies Business and Sport Management at Deakin University and works casually in boat maintenance and repair.
Away from the water, Austin is a keen outdoorsman who loves camping, 4WDing, fishing, and spinning tracks as a DJ.
