Dr. Christopher Grummitt has revolutionised regatta management technology in Australia, elevating the sport with his innovative timing and management systems.
Beginning his rowing journey at Brisbane Boys College in 1981 and later coxing for Toowong Rowing Club, Chris's technical prowess led him to develop sophisticated regatta management systems that integrate timing, photo finish, and live result transmission.
His pioneering work, recognised globally, has set the standard for regatta technology. Chris's contributions extend to coaching and administration, including a historic win coaching Queensland's only Queen's Cup victory.
Serving as Rowing Australia's Technology Manager, he has ensured the sport remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
Elected a life member of Rowing Australia in 2023, Dr. Grummitt's impact on rowing is profound and enduring.
