Emmie Frederico is a bow-side sweep rower from Melbourne, Victoria, and a fresh face at the Hancock Prospecting National Training Centre in 2025. A proud member of Mercantile Rowing Club, Emmie is already making waves after a standout Under 23 campaign and multiple national titles, bringing her trademark energy and competitive spirit into her first senior season.
Emmie’s rowing journey began at Firbank Grammar in Brighton under coach Katelyn Johnson, before she earned a scholarship to Syracuse University in the U.S. It was there she experienced one of her most unforgettable sporting moments, helping Syracuse win the ACC Conference Championship for the first time in the program’s history.
Her international resume includes a World Rowing Under 23 Championship Gold medal in the Women’s Coxed Four, where the crew not only topped the podium but set a new world best time. Back home, Emmie captured 2025 Australian titles in both the Open Women’s Pair and Quad Scull, establishing herself as one of the country’s most versatile and exciting young rowers.
Off the water, Emmie works full-time as a Marketing Coordinator, balancing elite sport and career. Whether she’s racing, working, or taking walks and ocean swims with her dog Ziggy Stardust, Emmie’s approach is consistent: go fast and have fun. With her eyes set on medals and more memories in 2025, Emmie’s first HPNTC year promises to be just the beginning of a remarkable journey in green and gold.
