Katherine Easton

Katherine “Katie” Easton is a dual international and emerging leader in Australian women’s sweep rowing. Born and raised in Melbourne, Katie first picked up an oar at Methodist Ladies’ College in Kew before launching into national and international success from both the Melbourne University Boat Club and University of Michigan.

Katie won Gold at the 2023 U23 World Rowing Championships in the Women’s Coxed Four and backed it up with a fourth-place finish in the U23 Women’s Eight in 2024. Her junior representation began in 2019, finishing sixth in the JW4+ at the World Rowing Junior Championships in Tokyo.

At Michigan, Katie left a lasting legacy. A two-time Pocock/CRCA All-American, Team Captain, and Big Ten Champion in the 1V8 (2023 & 2024), she helped guide the Wolverines to consistent podium finishes across NCAA and conference competitions. She earned academic honours every year while completing a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Sciences with a minor in Business Administration, graduating in May 2025.

Katie’s stroke-side power and poise under pressure have made her a mainstay of the top Michigan crews and a standout prospect for the Australian Senior National Team. Her most memorable moment to date? A 6km head race in mixed eights during a team training trip in Florida, a pure display of endurance, connection, and fun that sums up her love for the sport.

Outside of rowing, Katie enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dog, and being outdoors. With eyes firmly set on the 2025 World Cup and beyond, she is determined to continue pushing her limits and leading from the front.
