Mitchell Reinhard

SA | Adelaide Rowing Club

Mitchell Reinhard is a proud South Australian sculler known for his laid-back persona and fierce competitiveness on the water. Hailing from Adelaide and representing Adelaide Rowing Club, Mitchell’s journey in rowing has been anything but conventional. A former triathlete with a natural engine and love for endurance sport, Mitchell found his true calling on the water, particularly when training and racing alongside his mates.

After attending Unley High School, Mitchell gravitated toward sculling and steadily rose through the ranks at state and national levels. He first appeared internationally at the 2019 World Rowing Under 23 Championships, racing in the Lightweight Men’s Double Scull. Despite narrowly missing the A/B Final, he claimed a strong win in the B Final and began carving out a reputation for consistency and determination.

In 2024, Mitchell returned to the international stage at World Rowing Cup I in Varese, Italy, this time in the Men’s Double Scull. The crew placed sixth in the A Final, solidifying Mitchell’s status as a senior-calibre athlete capable of stepping up in pressure environments.

Domestically, 2025 marked a career breakthrough, with Reinhard winning Gold in the Men’s Double Scull at the Australian Rowing Championships. His ability to step up when it counts, backed by a powerful stroke and composed racing mindset, has made him one of the most exciting South Australian talents in recent years.

Currently an NTC Scholar, Mitchell continues to push the limits of elite performance through his training, with an eye firmly on future racing. Coached initially by Peer Richards, his development has been supported by South Australia’s strong rowing ecosystem.

When he’s not training, Mitchell enjoys shrimping, and keeping tabs on the NBA, especially the Sacramento Kings, whose 2024 playoff run ranks as his favourite sporting moment outside of rowing.

Simple in philosophy but sharp in execution, Mitchell’s 2025 on-water goal is clear: “Win.” Based on his trajectory, that’s exactly where he’s headed.

Mitchell is currently a member of the Australian Men's Double Sculls.
