Noel W. Donaldson ASM (middle) is a renowned rowing coach with an illustrious career that spans several decades and includes head coaching roles for the Australian men’s team, the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS), Rowing Australia, and the National Centre for Rowing Excellence.
He has also served as the New Zealand lead men’s sweep coach and returned to Australia in 2019 to head the VIS rowing program and later Rowing Victoria.
Known for his commitment to athlete well-being and his exceptional coaching quality, Noel's career highlights include the formation and development of the "Oarsome Foursome," a crew that achieved global success, and coaching the iconic New Zealand men's pair of Eric Murray and Hamish Bond.
His dedication has resulted in numerous national and international victories, making significant contributions to both Australian and New Zealand rowing.
Noel's impact on the sport is profound, as he continues to develop young talent and provide guidance to elite programs.
