Peter Antoine OAM

Peter Thomas Antonie OAM is one of Australia's most versatile and accomplished rowers, celebrated for his achievements across multiple boat classes and weight divisions.

Born on May 11, 1958, in Melbourne, Antonie competed in senior representative squads from 1977 to 1996, representing Australia at three Olympic Games and fifteen World Rowing Championships. He won an Olympic gold medal in the men's double scull at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and a World Championship title in the lightweight single scull in 1986.

Throughout his career, Antonie amassed twenty-nine national championship titles, showcasing his prowess as both a sculler and a sweep oarsman.

His contributions to rowing were recognized with the Order of Australia Medal, the Australian Sports Medal, and the prestigious Thomas Keller Medal.

Inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame and the Rowing Victoria Hall of Fame, Antonie's legacy as one of Australia's greatest rowers continues to inspire the rowing community.
