Phoebe Robinson is a rising star in Australian rowing, known for her versatility across disciplines and her passion for team-based sport. Born and raised in Brisbane, Queensland, Phoebe took up rowing at Stuartholme School and quickly emerged as a standout athlete. Originally a competitive swimmer and horse rider, she found her stride on the water and never looked back.
Phoebe has represented Australia across junior, under 23, and beach sprint formats. She competed at the World Rowing Junior Championships in 2018 and 2019, placing sixth in both the coxless four and women’s pair respectively. In 2023, she won bronze in the women’s four at the U23 World Championships and capped off the year with a gold medal at the World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals in Barletta, Italy, where she became a world champion in the PR3 mixed double sculls. That victory marked Australia's first-ever medal in the PR3 category at the Beach Sprints and was especially meaningful as she raced alongside her best friend, Mac Russell.
Phoebe also boasts an impressive domestic record, having claimed multiple Australian Rowing Championship titles, including wins in the Under 19 and Under 21 women's four, pair, eight, and double sculls between 2018 and 2019.
Her talents earned her a spot at the University of Texas in Austin, where she continued to thrive. In 2024, she rowed in the First Varsity 4+ crew that claimed the NCAA National Championship and won gold at the Big 12 Conference Championships. That same year, she also helped the Longhorns win the prestigious Karen Plumleigh Cortney Cup at the San Diego Crew Classic.
Now based in Queensland, Phoebe is finishing her Agribusiness studies at the University of Queensland’s Gatton campus and works casually as a rowing coach at All Hallows’ School. With eyes set on another Beach Sprint podium in 2025, she continues to refine her skills, aiming to improve in every race and learn more from the sport she loves.
Phoebe’s favourite sporting moment to date is winning the NCAA Championship with her teammates—a reflection of the deep value she places on camaraderie, resilience, and shared success.
Phoebe is currently a member of the Australian Coastal Mixed Quad Sculls.
