For the 2017 World Rowing Cup 2 and World Rowing Championships, Turrin was named in the Men's Four alongside Josh Hicks, Jack Hargreaves and Alex Hill. He went on to win gold in the Men's Four at the 2017 World Championships, the first time in 26 years that Australia had won the boat class. He also raced in the Men's Eight at World Rowing Cup 3 winning a silver medal in 2017.
