Stephen Donnelley
President
Stephen Donnelley is the newly elected President of Rowing Australia (RA), succeeding Rob Scott OLY after a decade of transformative leadership, officially taking office on June 20.
Mr. Donnelley's involvement in rowing began in 2004 as a volunteer assisting The Scots College rowing program. Over the years, he has coached several schoolboy and schoolgirl crews. His journey in sports administration began with Rowing NSW, where he joined the Board in 2015 as Deputy President and assumed the role of President in 2016.
During his tenure as President of Rowing NSW, Mr. Donnelley guided the organisation through significant periods of growth and competitive success. His leadership was instrumental in the establishment of the Women’s National Training Centre in Penrith. He also chaired various committees, including those focused on remuneration and safety and occupational health.
In addition to his contributions to rowing, Mr. Donnelley has extensive experience as a board director in the commercial sector and with not-for-profit organisations.
As President of Rowing Australia, Mr. Donnelley aims to foster continued growth, excellence and inclusivity across all levels of rowing in Australia. His vision is to ensure that the sport evolves and thrives, setting the stage for further success at both national and international levels.
