Australia’s next generation set for Under 23 Selection Trials

Australia’s best pathway athletes will embark on the Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith to trial for the Under 23 Australian Rowing Team from April 19-25.

The trials mark the beginning of the campaign toward the 2025 World Rowing Under 23 Championships, held in Poznan, Poland from July 23-27.

Following on from a successful 2024 Under 23 campaign, Australia’s emerging talent will now have the opportunity to push for national selection and continue building the depth for LA2028 and beyond.

“These trials are a vital step in the development pathway for Australia’s next generation of Rowsellas,” Rowing Australia Head of Pathways Jason Lane said.

“They allow us to assess the performance of our pathways group under pressure and provide athletes with an opportunity to demonstrate their potential for the next level.”

This year’s invitees represent a broad cross-section of clubs, states, and pathway programs, with all boat classes (sweep, sculling, and lightweight) included in the trial process.

Those athletes selected will represent Australia on the world stage, gaining invaluable experience as they aim to transition towards senior national team ranks.
