Row into the excitement of the 2025 Australian Rowing Championships (ARC) and become a part of the volunteer family in Tasmania!
Volunteering at the 2025 ARC is more than just a commitment—it's about being part of a legacy that spans across events and generations. With the 2024 Australian Masters Rowing Championships (AMRC) being held in Tasmania last May a few of our volunteers got their first taste of being involved in a national event, and their passion for the sport has grown. They are a testament to the meaningful connections and lifelong friendships formed through volunteering.
As we continue this journey from the AMRC to the 2025 ARC we invite you to join us at this event. The ARC will take place at Lake Barrington International Race Course on the Monday 24 March - Sunday 30 March 2025.
Why Volunteering at the Championships is a Unique Experience
Volunteering at the ARC offers a unique chance to be at the heart of the action. You'll witness world-class athletes compete while contributing to the smooth running of the event. It's an opportunity to be part of something bigger, to feel the thrill of the races, and to share in the camaraderie and spirit of the rowing community.
Volunteering also provides a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to host a major sporting event. You'll gain valuable skills, meet people from all walks of life, and create memories along with new friendships.
As a volunteer with us you will receive the following benefits:
- An official volunteer uniform including shirt, cap, drink bottle and bag
- Food and drink during your shift
- The experience of volunteering at an amazing event
- The opportunity to see Australia’s best rowers in action
- Free parking
- Post-event thank you function
- Volunteer certificate
- Reference letter as required
How Volunteers Make a Difference: Roles and Responsibilities
Volunteers play a crucial role in the success of the ARC. From assisting with logistics and event setup to providing support for athletes and spectators, every task is important. Roles can include ticket entry, patron experience, timing, presentations, and more.
By volunteering, you'll not only help ensure the event runs smoothly, but you'll also contribute to creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
Meet a local Tasmanian Volunteer Family
The volunteer family in Tasmania are a diverse and inspiring group. Many have been involved in rowing for years, while others are new to the sport. What unites them is their passion for helping and their love for the community.
Brynne first got involved in volunteering at rowing events when his son Thomas was rowing. He now works in the tower in timing/photo finish/chief judge at most regattas. Both Brynne and Thomas got their first taste of ARC by volunteering at the 2024 AMRC in May. They enjoyed the experience and look forward to being involved again after signing up to being apart of the 2025 ARC. Being in the tower during the AMRC gave Thomas a chance to see what the other side of a rowing regatta looks like. His mother Angela was also involved in the AMRC working in the canteen. She continues to help out with her daughter Molly by also working in the coffee shop.
