Rowing Australia names 2025 Beach Sprint squad

Rowing Australia has announced the athletes selected in the 2025 Australian Beach Sprint squad following two rounds of trials.

This group will form the training squad for the 2025 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals, with final team selections confirmed at a later date pending World Rowing’s reallocation of the event’s location and timing.

The Finals were scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in October and World Rowing is actively seeking an alternative host in the shortest time frame possible.

As a result of this move, selection requirements are being amended and final racing crews will be announced after the upcoming national beach camp in July, the team will compete at the Australian Coastal Rowing and Beach Sprint Championships at Monterey Beach, NSW, from September 18-21.

Following both trials, Blake Whyatt (WA) and Catherine Khan (ACT) are the leading combination in the Mixed Double Sculls (CMix2x), with Tokyo Gold Medalist Spencer Turrin OAM (NSW) emerging as the preferred Men’s Solo (CM1x). The next set of trials are aimed to confirm selection of these two boats alongside a Women's Solo (CW1x) and Mixed Quad Scull (CMix4x+).
