Rowing Australia Pathways Head Coach Jason Lane has congratulated the athletes invited to the 2023 Pathways U23 Training Camp in December, urging them to seize the chance to build on their skills and conditioning as they continue their rowing journey.
The U23 cohort represent the next generation of Australian rowing talent and will be put their paces under the watchful eye of Lane and members of the Rowing Australia coaching and High Performance team from December 12-21 at the Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith.
Lane said it was an ideal opportunity to round out the year for the Next Gen elite athletes and crews, who will be pushing themselves and each other on and off the water.
“These camps provide the percent chance for the rowers to come together as a wider group, learn from our world-class High Performance staff and really hold themselves to the highest possible standards,” Lane said.
“Many of our Olympic and World Champions have walked this path before and we know there are some serious talents among the group that will be coming to Penrith.
“On top of that, we want the athletes to really come together as a group and try to get a deep understanding of what it means to be a member of the Australian Rowing Team. Those values really drive what we are all trying to achieve as a sport.”
