Kimberley Jean "Kim" Brennan AM, born on August 9, 1985, is a celebrated Australian rower whose illustrious career includes being a three-time Olympian and a sixteen-time national champion. Brennan achieved Olympic glory with a gold medal in the women's single sculls at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, adding to her silver and bronze medals from the 2012 London Olympics.
Her prowess is further evidenced by her two World Championship golds in single sculls in 2013 and 2015. Brennan's transition to rowing followed a successful junior athletics career, highlighted by a silver medal in the 400m hurdles at the 2001 World Youth Championships. Beyond her athletic achievements, Brennan has been a significant figure in sports administration, serving as Chair of the Australian Olympic Committee's Athletes Commission and a full voting member on the AOC Board. She was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia in 2017 for her contributions to rowing and the welfare of elite athletes.
Brennan retired from competitive rowing in 2018, dedicating her time to her family and continuing her involvement in the sporting community.
