North Shore Rowing Club has claimed top honours at the 2025 Australian Masters Rowing Championships, finishing first in the Champion Club Point Score after four days of high-energy racing at the Sydney International Regatta Centre from May 29 to June 1.
More than 950 athletes took part in the national event, which featured 203 events, 1691 entries and over 5000 seats racing, marking another strong year of competition and camaraderie for rowers aged 27 and over.
In a tight contest for the overall club title, North Shore Rowing Club (NSW) edged out Melbourne Rowing Club (VIC), tallying 1757.25 points to Melbourne’s 1607.75.
Mosman Rowing Club (NSW) rounded out the top three with 1301.5 points.
Individual brilliance was also on display throughout the regatta.
Olivia Tonge (North Shore) stood atop the athlete point score, amassing a phenomenal 182 points across her races, including 10 Gold medals, two Silvers and three Bronze.
Jacqueline De Jong (Riverway) followed closely behind with 160.5 points, and Rodney Stewart (Melbourne), a familiar face on the Masters podium, rounded out the top three with 154 points.
Organisers praised the Sydney venue and the rowing contingent for delivering a safe, enjoyable and fiercely competitive regatta.
Many participants highlighted the welcoming atmosphere and top-tier racing as standout elements of the 2025 edition.
The Masters community now turns its eyes west, with Champion Lakes Regatta Centre in Perth announced as the host of the 2026 Australian Masters Rowing Championships from May 27-30.
With its mix of competition, community and celebration, the 2025 AMRC has once again proven why Masters rowing continues to thrive across Australia.
